Charnwood Council opening times and service changes over the Christmas period
Changes to the Council's services and opening days/times over the Christmas period can be found on the Council's website.
The main council office building at Southfields will close at 1pm on Tuesday, 24 December 2024 and remain closed until 9am on Thursday, 2 January 2025.

Christmas opening hours for the Parish Office
The Parish office will close 3pm on Thursday 19th December 2024 and reopen at 9am on Wednesday 8th January 2025

Digital inclusion Programme extended in Leicestershire
People in Leicestershire who are struggling with the cost of living can get free internet access under a scheme created by Virgin Media O2 and the Good Things Foundation.
The scheme aims to end the 'digital exclusion' of the poorest in society and describes the scheme "like a foodbank, but for mobile data, the National Databank provides free mobile SIM cards for people who can't access the internet".... Read More »

Sponsored walk to purchase a defibrillator for East Goscote Industrial Estate
SFC are doing a sponsored 10km walk in the Peak District to raise funds for a life-saving defibrillator for the East Goscote Industrial Estate. This essential equipment can make a critical difference in emergencies, potentially saving lives.
Any funds raised beyond the target will be donated to The British Heart Foundation, further supporting heart health initiatives.

Crime update. for the month of October 2024.
Through the month of October 2024, over the Charnwood area, there have been 4 Burglaries.
1 was in Syston, and 3 in Queniborough.
1 vehicle has been stolen from Syston and one attempt in Rearsby.
There have also been a number of vehicles broken into and items stolen.
This occurred in Syston, Thurmaston, East Goscote and Barkby.
